I got this today and it fit perfectly. I bought a size S and my waist is 25". It's not too tight around my waist and the length is modest but cute.

I got this skirt in a medium in the heather taupe color. It is actually big on me, but I purchased it on sale so I could not return it. I really like the material this skirt is made out of as well as the style. Wearing it reminds me of Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks, which is the style I was aiming for when I originally bought it.

I got the light charcoal and navy in xs, and they are a bit smaller than the general aa xs size for skirts that I have bought previously. I have a 24 inch waist and these do fit a bit snug, but they are really the perfect and most adorable skirts. If you're between sizes I'd advise ordering up. I along with many others also wish for more diverse colours, but while these were on sale when I ordered them I couldn't help but have two haha.

I got this skirt and really liked it. Also, I got it on sale so it was a really good deal. It fit perfectly but I'm kind of petit with narrow hips. In fact, I have a little bit of trouble ordering online because things are usually big! It is pretty snug around the waist and hips but it is so pretty!

My waist is 27.5 in and 36 at my hip bones (40 in at the largest point) so I ordered a medium. However, it's really sung, especially around the hips. I would suggest sizing up with skirt. Even if it's a tad big, it would look good with a belt, thus solving the problem. Other than it being too small for me, the skirt is really cute and is the same color as the picture (light charcoal) and I love the fact that it was 50% off. I just wish it fit better :( Guess I'm going to have to loose some weight to fit into it better.

This skirt is true to size (or rather, American Apparel size). As a very petite person, I'm always looking for companies that run on the smaller size, and AA gives me that. My waist is 24". This skirt is snug but not tight on me. The fabric of the skirt is stiff but not terribly thick. It is very slimming and looks flattering, and it is professional looking. I love this! Thank you AA.

This skirt is a classic staple. Flattering, nipped high waist that is skims the hips perfectly. Fabric has nice drape and texture. Length is sassy but not too short (hits me mid-thigh) maybe work appropriate with tights. Definitely runs small, I ordered my typical size--25, and it was tiny in the waist and hips. It seems as though if I ordered a size up, the hips would be perfect but the waist might be too big. There was enough extra room where the wrap portion overlapped for me to move a button at the waist so I could still wear it.

My first AA purchase! Fits like a dream if you have an average-sized waste for your body. Very cute but not sexy... so it's appropriate for the office, especially if you wear some tights. Beautiful material, very well-made.

I wasn't sure which size to buy as a lot of reviews say this skirt runs small. I have a 26 inch waist and bought the medium. I could of bought the small but didnt want to risk it. The medium sits nicely But just below my waist. I am getting the buttons moved and re-stitched so that it sits on my waist. If your unsure it's not a problem to alter this skirt.

I have a weird body shape. I am not very symmetrical from the mid-waist down so I almost can never find a skirt that can hide this defect well. I am glad to have found this skirt from AA. A really nice flattering skirt on my skinny body! (I am a rectangle body shape, small everything!)
I bought this skirt in two deep colours, charcoal grey and midnight blue. The former colour is very pretty. Midnight blue, however, is a very dark blue that sometimes look like black when there's not enough light. I'd prefer navy blue if it's available.
I wanna buy it in black also, but when I try it on, it looks like an off-black. Not a nice solid black. Kinda pale black. I didn't buy it in the end. You never know how a colour comes off until you can see it in person and try it on.
I look forward to seeing this skirt in other more interesting (upbeat) colours.

I have the grey charcoal version and it's a beautiful skirt, very well constructed. It does run a couple of inches small but you can simply move the button.

I need it in black as well but size Medium isn't available anymore. Please bring it back!

I've been looking for a pleated skirt for quite some time and as the time went by I almost gave up on finding one and was starting to think about getting it custome made. Usually pretty ones were totally over priced and the afordable ones were made of bad material or didn't look right. This one is just perfect. I was afraid it might be too long on me as I'm not that tall and high-waist skirts usually hang a bit too long on me. But the length is just like in the photos with the asian model and the pleats are fantastic.. flowy and flirty. This skirt is basically a wrap-around skirt. It closes up in front with 2 buttons. Which is awesome cause as many of the other reviewers mentioned, it does run a little small.. so if it fits too tight you can move the buttons a inch to make it more comfortable. However, this worked out perfect for me.. Cause my waist is 21inches and its hard to find anything that fits right. I got the light charcol. The color is slightly lighter than i thought it would be but it is nice. I'm getting another one in black. This skirt is a staple piece, get it.

This is a really cute skirt, but as other reviewers have stated, it runs quite small. (I find this a constant with AA clothes, though, so I'm not so surprised.) My waist fluctuates from 23 inches to 24 inches and I had to suck in my stomach to put on the XS when I got it today! I also own this skirt in another color and size, S, and that's a bit roomy for me.

Overall, lovely skirt - it's one of my favourites!

I really like this skirt. It is, however, definitely snug around the waist.... I have a 24" waist. For me I'm perfectly happy with this because it's actually pretty difficult for me to find such well-fitted skirts, but I can see it being a problem for people. I also adore the length on my short height, which is a little bit above at my knees (I love modesty).

Just the skirt I was looking for. I love these skirts. ButI need a large for it to fit perfectly. PLEASE. Almost half the reviews request a L or XL. Why not make them and earn more revenue? Hey, Business 101! It hangs pretty well (one of the buttons is off and it's a bit tight unless I wear it really high. Sigh.) But it looks great with tall socks and boots.

If you release it in Large, I will buy one in 4 colors at least. Please. This style is extremely flattering and you'd sell loads. And make more REVENUE. Yes, the elusive R word: REVENUE. Revenue is usually considered a good thing for businesses. I run a business and I like it. Ask around, you'll find it's a pretty common sentiment. Sorry for the snark, I just really want to buy a bunch of these skirts!

Perfect skirt. With my 27 inch waist, the Medium fits almost perfectly... the only issue being that I think the second button hole needs to be slightly moved to get it to sit perfectly flat. Even so, this is a beautiful skirt and I'm excited to wear it!

I can understand why people want it in larger sizes. I'm an 8-10 in Australian size which is extra small / small, yet I fit the largest size they make in this skirt... odd!

I've been a fan of this skirt forever. It cropped up online a few years ago, JUST as I was looking for a grey pleated school-girl style skirt. I was excited to see what the sizes were like in real life, but alas, I am a large woman and medium, even a high-waisted medium is just not going to cut it. I've been waiting and waiting for this skirt to come out in an XL, or even an L, but alas, you haven't changed the sizes. This really depresses me, as this is STILL a skirt I covet immensely and I feel like the fact that you stopped the sizing at medium is immensely unfair. Please release a bigger size. I'm begging you.

This skirt is amazing! If I worked in an office right now, I would probably buy it in every color. I love the fit, the length, the colors, and the sewn-in pleats ($60 for a skirt might sound expensive, but sewn-in pleats are AWESOME and look so good, all the time, no matter what). You can't really see the pleats well in most of the photos, but they start on the edges of the front and wrap all the way around the back. My only complaint is that it isn't made in larger sizes! I'm 5'3" 115 to 120 pounds with a 29" to 30" waist and 35" to 36" hips, and this skirt barely fits me in a Medium (I definitely have to wear it at my natural waist, a little bit higher than I'm used to wearing skirts, but not a problem). I think it would be flattering on people with larger waists than mine, so it's too bad it isn't sold in larger sizes!

This skirt probably is the best thing that has happened to me. I beg you please make another colour, I would so buy it. I have this in Light Charcoal and a size S but I'm thinking of betting the midnight navy as well..but I would love another colour that's not so similar to the others. But anayway just do buy this skirt it's heavenly.

I've been waiting for this skirt in L for over two years now. Ridiculous. I would (as I'm sure so many other people as well) buy one in every color IF they made it in L. I don't even have a large natural waist and M is just a touch too small. Not cool, AA.

I bought this skirt in summer of 2009 in a medium, and it is and was awesome, it fit around my natural waist when I wore it (it was about 27 inches), but after losing weight it was too loose to wear there (at a 24 inch waist). I found, as a short-waisted person, it looks really good buttoned around the ribcage, so long as you're not busty.
I suggest if you're short-waisted, maybe wear a size that fits your ribcage instead of your natural waist. It hangs perfectly flat and is a little bit shorter and leg-lengthening. My ribcage measures about 27.5 inches, so the medium fit there without being too loose or too tight. It looks even better this way, and hangs perfectly flat.
I have 2 of these skirts, but I would love one in another color, it just sucks that the colors are so similar. One in a deep red would look absolutely lovely.

This skirt is the best. It fits to perfectly, it just lays flat and make you look so fit and cute as the same time. I feel beautiful wearing it, really. I got it today in light charcoal but it's a lot more greyish than it looks in the pic(it looks very classical..like what the school girls wore in London back in the 60's)...anyway it's lovely. Totally worth it.

I have this skirt in both light charcoal and midnight navy in medium. The navy one is a tad tighter than the charcoal one, but both are gorgeous skirts and look beautiful. For reference, I have a 25.5 inch waist, usually am between a u.s. size 2-4 and measured the waist of both skirts, the charcoal was 26 inches and the navy was 25. for those of you who might not fit into a medium, try a bunch of mediums on and maybe one will fit, sort of like how the zipper-ankle jeans are.

I love this skirt, but I gotta give it 1 star because it's too snug around the waist. I have a 28-29inch waist, and when I try this it's too snug to be comfortable. It wouldn't be too hard to include one or two larger sizes for those of us who love this skirt.

I loved this skirt, when I tried it on during a trip to NY (we sadly don't have AA in Denmark) and would definitely get in a few colors.. if only it came in an L. The medium is too small! And i normally wear medium in other brands. So let me buy it online! In a Medium.

Please AA.. make a size large for this... pleeeeease! Pretty Please.

I am a pretty extreme hourglass, 38-27-41.5. The medium fits in the waist, but it rides up because it doesn't flare out enough at my low waist, which is 36 (yes, I have a 9 inch difference between my high and low waist xD) I love the cut on this, it doesn't show any pooch at all! I currently have it in the dark charcoal, if I can find the money, I will get the heather taupe next. But why does it have to be in such boring, formal, uniformish colors? I'd love this in some funky plaid, or a neon, or maybe even white so we can dye it ourselves?

Hot, but not salacious, so I can wear it to work or out on the week end. I got a compliment on the very first day I wore it when I teamed it with the AA black stirrup opaque pantyhose and black T bar low heels.
