It is not uncommon for people on the store to grow into retail management, district
management, retail operation, merchandising, graphic design, public relations, product
development and creative positions.
As much as possible, we try to promote people from within, and we are not opposed
to advancing people quickly who are most qualified. We are always looking for new
talent.
If you are interested
- Tell us where you would like to work
- Submit a letter of interest (resume optional)
- Submit a photo of yourself (pref. head to toe)
dressed in such a way that reflects your personal taste and fashion sensibility.
Please remember we are open-minded and are looking for individuals who are of all
shapes and sizes.
- Let us know how to get in touch with you
There is no harm in indicating whether you your initial core interest is in floor
sales, inventory management, visual merchandizing, or a creative position.
We are interested in people from all backgrounds, since we are committed to diversity
and operate an international business with a metropolitan focus.
You can also submit photos or links to your creative work (i.e. merchandising accomplishments,
design ideas, photos you've taken, self portraits, artworks of any kind or inspirations
of any sorts including the works of others that you admire), in order to give us
a better idea of who you are from a creative perspective (optional).
Applicants should understand that we are looking for individuals who have a well-informed
and sophisticated taste level, and the capacity to take a curatorial approach to
our product line when styling themselves (individuals will be wearing and modeling
our clothing when working at our stores). Individuals should be able to present
themselves in a way that impresses and inspires our customer. There should be a
firm understanding that our brand image embraces the natural human state including
physical imperfections. For those that work on our store floor, we are looking for
people who present themselves in a natural manner in terms of makeup, hair style,
etc.
We are looking for people who present themselves as trustworthy tastemakers, and
not trend followers.
We appreciate people who are studying or have studied at a reputable fashion school
or art school. At the same time, an academic background is not always necessary.
We appreciate people who are interested in the following disciplines: design (apparel
design, apparel manufacturing, drapery, costume and merchandising); marketing, advertising,
photography, or modeling, retail development or business development.
Individuals must have the intuition to be able to respond to the tastes of each
individual customer and to introduce customers to the particular products that would
suit them best and excite them.
Retail experience is not necessarily necessary.
Applicants should be excited to merchandise our stores, willing to do some administrative
and organizational tasks to keep the store in order, and at times be willing to
work late hours to help organize the store.
Minimum age requirements vary by state to state / province to province. In many
cases you do not need to be 18 to apply, although minors will need parental permission.
