AMERICAN APPAREL AWARDED FASTEST GROWING SUPPLIER BY THE AD SPECIALTY INSTITUTE

Los Angeles Based Sweatshop Free T-Shirt And Apparel Company Honored At Las Vegas ASI Spirit Awards.

Las Vegas (NV) ­ American Apparel, one of the fastest growing apparel manufacturers in the world was recognized by the Ad Specialty Industry as one of the fastest growing suppliers in the Ad Specialty Industry having increased sales in the Ad Specialty space by 300 percent in the past year. Last year American Apparel ranked number eight in the Ad Specialty Industry to ranking number two this year. Marty Bailey, VP of Operations accepted the award on behalf of Senior Partner Dov Charney and American Apparel's 1000 plus factory workers. Bailey's speech reflected upon American Apparel's socially responsible business practices, raising some very important issues of workers' rights within the garment industry ­ an industry traditionally associated with worker exploitation and sweatshop conditions.

The promotional products industry is a multi-billion dollar business annually and 30 percent of the promotional products supplied are within the wearable industry. American Apparel's vertically integrated business model of advanced technology, labor efficiency, and passion for producing the best garments are the key elements that contribute to the company's marketing success in not only the ASI (Ad Specialty Institute) industry, but in all major emerging markets. Art Golden, the new Director of Supplier Services for ASI, congratulated American Apparel's three-year growth and outstanding achievement in the industry, simply stated "American Apparel is a company that gets it."
