Yesterday an American Apparel store in Silver Spring, Maryland had a window broken by
someone upset over the company's support for gay marriage. Our Georgetown location and
others in the areas have received similar threats. We just wanted to use this forum here to
announce that not only are they not going to prevent us from speaking out on an issue that is
important to this company and our employees but we'll continue to run Legalize Gay
advertisements in papers across the DC-Metro area. We'll also send Legalize Gay t-shirts
to any group in Washington DC that is fighting for gay rights and will help support any protest
or rally for the cause. We don't find this kind of thing funny and we definitely don't find it intimidating. Thanks to
everyone who has reached out to us and if you need anything please contact: Jonny at
jonnys@americanapparel.net or (213) 488-0226.

I truly do admire your stance and assertive advocacy - the worst those people can do is instill fear to prevent you [us] from advocating equality. And it's encouraging to EVERYONE out there, admirable too, to see that AA is not daunted!

| I think gays should have as much rights to do what they wanna do as smokers, plumbers, librarians, pastors, alcoholics, lunch-ladies, mailmen, and everyone else. As long as they're not endangering other peoples' well-being (which they're not) who are we to say they can't marry? We founded this country on freedom, regardless of who you were and what you believed and felt. Now I know that many of the founding fathers were Christians, but they welcomed people of all faiths and beliefs and certainly didn't want to impose their specific Christian beliefs on others, so why should any of us be able to do the same with our beliefs? Good job with fighting for justice, AA. |

| It shouldn't even be a matter to Legalize, why is it Illegal in the first place? People should be looking at the real problems with the world and society rather than homosexuality, because that's not a problem. Thank you American Apparel. |

Everytime you think progress is being made, some d-bag has to do something stupid and insensitive like this... Cowards do things like this, people with true character wouldn't use intimidation to make a point. Sending positive energies to those employees of the Silver Spring location and those across our DC metro area...
To whomever did this, if you're reading this... I live in DC, and I don't appreciate this one bit... grow up and grow a heart

I'm considering pulling a petition for City Council in Boulder, Colorado--which happened to legalize the first gay marriage in US history, back in the early 70s. http://www.elephantjournal.com/2009/02/gregory-hinton-for-daily-camera-march-26-1975-the-first-same-sex-marriage-licenses-in-the-united-states-were-heroically-issued-in-boulder-by-county-clerk-clela-rorex/
